We were excited to see such a great turn out for the meeting this month! We'd like to thank the wonderful Sue McCarty for sharing her wonderful quilts with us and for all the encouragement and tips and tricks she shared. THANKS!
There were a few comments about the macaroon cookies on the treat table... visit www.alisonspantry.com for the mix. She also had a store in Pleasant Grove. Just add water a bake! They're excellent. The brownies and pumpkin cookies aren't half bad either.

Previous Meeting History
Previous Meeting History:
July 2012:
We had a great meeting last weekend. We had amazing food, a great show and tell with quilted and un-quilted tops, an excellent lesson on accounting by Katheryn and there were some really cool gadgets shown. My favorite was the spirograph tool. Worth checking out! Our president Val also showed us how to add a binding to our quilts on the longarm. If you want a quick review you can see a video on www.kimmyquilts.com. Click on her blog. Thank you to all of the guild members who were willing and able to take a quilt top to do for Phoenix Quilts. You can visit their website at www.phoenixquilts.blogspot.com for info on how to return the quilts - or bring them to the next meeting in September.

We're gearing up to help at HMQS, so many of the volunteer opportunities were covered in the meeting. We also heard from Diane Jaeger on her background and how she got involved in the Quilts of Valor project for our injured troops and veterans. We got some pointers from Deon Scott who will be teaching at HMQS this year, and learned of some great gadgets from Cory Weir on thread tension and set-up.
