We had a really great time at the meeting this month for all of you who missed it.
Renae Haddadin was our guest speaker and she talked about all of the great things you can do with your long arm that AREN'T quilts! Table runners, bags, and even wedding dresses. She also pushed us to try some heavy metallic threads in our bobbin for some spectacular results. Renae offered her newest fill design book for sale along with a signing. She's doing amazing things with her shop out in Sandy too. Watch for her to move to a bigger space in a few months that will allow her to teach classes and get more fun stuff available to all of us!
Our tip of the month was feathers and all the different variations of them. Check out the new pictures on our gallery for some great ideas. We also had a special visitor drop in from Down Under and show us some of her great tricks for perfect feathers. Helen Godden is an amazing pictorial quilt artist who uses an HQ Sweet Sixteen to create amazing works of art. Check out her DVD tutorial here: http://www.handiquilter.com/shop/product/free-motion-machine-quilting-for-beginners/
Don't forget that HMQS classes are now available online and the challenge quilt kits are also available as of Nov. 15th. Contact HMQS for more information on next year's challenges and how to register for classes. Some of the classes fill up fast so get your registrations in soon!
Have a really great holiday season and we'll see you all back in January!
